How To Bleed A Hydraulic Cylinder On A Dump Truck?

Step 1: Prepare the Vehicle and Safety Precautions

  • Park the dump truck on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Turn off the engine and remove the key from the ignition to prevent accidental activation of the hydraulic system.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as gloves and safety glasses, to protect yourself from hydraulic fluid and debris.

Step 2: Locate the Bleeder Valve

  • Identify the hydraulic cylinder(s) that need to be bled. These cylinders are typically connected to the dump truck’s lifting mechanism.
  • Locate the bleeder valve(s) on the hydraulic cylinder(s). The bleeder valve is a small fitting with a dust cap.

Step 3: Prepare for Bleeding

  • Remove the dust cap from the bleeder valve.
  • Place rags or towels around the bleeder valve to catch any hydraulic fluid leaking during the bleeding process.

Step 4: Bleeding Process

  • With the assistance of another person, who will operate the controls inside the cab, communicate and coordinate the bleeding process.
  • Depending on the dump truck’s configuration, instruct the person operating the controls to activate the hydraulic system in the “lower” or “dump” mode.
  • Open the bleeder valve by turning it counterclockwise. As the valve is opened, hydraulic fluid and air bubbles will be purged from the system.
  • Allow the hydraulic fluid to flow out until a steady stream is observed, indicating that the air has been expelled. Close the bleeder valve by turning it clockwise.

Step 5: Repeat the Process

  • Repeat the bleeding process for each hydraulic cylinder that requires bleeding, following the same steps outlined above.
  • Ensure that each bleeder valve is closed tightly after bleeding to prevent hydraulic fluid leakage.

Step 6: Check Fluid Level and Operation

  • Inspect the hydraulic fluid level in the dump truck’s reservoir. Add fluid if necessary, following the manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Start the engine and operate the hydraulic system to test the operation of the bled cylinders. Verify that they extend and retract smoothly without any abnormal noises or performance issues.

Disponiamo anche di una linea di produzione semiautomatica di vernici per cilindri di grandi dimensioni alimentata da una catena di potenza, con una capacità di progettazione di 60 casse per turno.
